RYERSON SHARP - ELLEN GARRISON
WEDDING CERTIFICATE
in Original Frame.
July 12, 1875
This is wonderful antique 1875 Marriage certificate in excellent condition. Ryerson Sharp served with the 184th New York Infantry Regiment in the Civil War. He enlisted 1 September 1864 at 23 years of age at Mexico New York, and his regiment saw action at Shenandoah Valley, Virginia on 07 October 1864 and at Cedar Creek, Virginia on 19 October 1864. He was mustered out at City Point, Virginia, 29 June 1865.
It comes in the original frame which measures 14 and 1/2" by 12 and 1/2" inches and is also in excellent condition except for a missing corner of a leaf on the lower left. The certificate itself is quite sharp and easily readable.
We inserted acid free paper between the original backerboard and the document to reduce any chemical migration from it to the certificate.
