About Florence's family . . .

Florence's parents, John Henry Plush and Carrie Jane (DeLong) Plush, were both born in New York. John and Carrie married on March 2, 1870 in Scriba County, New York, and together had five children, but only two survive to adults--Henry and Florence. Florence is the youngest of the five children:

In 1880, John and Carrie live on Water Street in Bay City. John is a fireman. They have two children--son Henry and daughter Cornelia. John's widowed sister Hellen and her daughter Louisa also live with the family. Flossie is born May 31, 1886, in Essexville, Michigan.

By 1897, the family has moved to Mercer Street in Essexville. In 1900 John works as a marine engineer as does son Henry. Daughter Cornelia has died.

Carrie's widowed sister Hellen, who has been living with the family, dies from cancer on October 22, 1903.

On August 16, 1905, Flossie marries Carl Cressman Gregg (Grandpa Gregg) in Bay City and moves away from home.

John (Great-Grandpa Gregg) dies on March 12, 1908, in Michigan. He is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Bay City.

In 1911, Carrie (Great-Grandma Gregg), now age 60, still lives in Essexville with her son Henry who never married. Carrie dies November 12, 1911, from heart failure while at home in Essexville. She is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Bay City. Henry dies sometime after 1946.

Flossie (Grandma Gregg) dies on Dad's 38th birthday, September 22, 1948, at her home in Bay City. She is buried in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Bay City.
