May God continue to bless all those who enter St. Bernadette Catholic Church: as they seek strength and consolation from God in this holy place; May God be with all those who leave this Church: may they go forth as living signs of His presence. May St. Bernadette, our beloved patron Saint, continue to intercede for us, and may our parish continue to grow in God's Grace and reflect God's Love to all. May God be praised and adored.

It's about Life in the Eucharist. What is Eucharistic Adoration?

The Eucharist is the central act of our worship and life as Catholics. Our life in Jesus, our witness to him, and our service of others in His name all flow from this powerful experience of His love.

Eucharistic Adoration is a way to enter more deeply into the prayer and contemplation that begin at Mass. (This is why there are moments in the liturgy when we pause for quiet prayer and reflection.) Eucharistic Adoration (prayer before the tabernacle or a monstrance where a blessed host is exposed) is a prayer of presence; we come into the presence of Jesus who loves us.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, the tireless servant of the poor, destitute and dying, loved this form of prayer. She said, "When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the sacred host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now." We make a response of love to Christ's loving presence by spending a few minutes, a half-hour, or an hour in prayer. It is a time of intimacy with God in Jesus our Lord. When you love someone, it isn't as important what you say but that you spend time with him or her, listening and responding. Stay with the Lord a while.
