Notes: Among the interesting homesteads in New Britain, is that recently in the tenure of the Donald son family, and owned by then for 130 years, situated on the northwest side of what is know n as the Doylestown road where it crosses the county line. The house is a large stone structu re, surrounded by a farm of 167 acres with a lasting spring of water nearby, and was original ly part of the James Steel tract bought 1718. For the next fifty years the 212 acres which Ab el Morgan, a Baptist minister, bought of the Steel tract, was held by David Evans, 1722 to 17 38, when it was sold to Jonathan Drake; then to Thomas Drake, 1756, and to Joseph Endicot, 17 70.
