Notes: BIOGRAPHY: Most sources, including Don Norman, say she was the daughter of John Truby and Est er Westfall, but she must have been at least as old as JohnTruby, even if the frequently-cite d birthdate of 1739 for her son Jacob Jr. (based on his stated age of 95 in his pension appli cation of 1834) is incorrect. (Although Jacob Jr. may not have been a son but a nephew.) He r first documented children were christened in Feb and Oct 1757, which puts her birth befor e 1740. John's birth is usually given as1741/42, but he had a child as early as 1756. It i s unlikely he was born before 1727, when his parents immigrated. His oldest brother, also Ch ristopher, was born in 1736. She is more likely to have been John and Christopher's sister , although she is not mentioned with the other children in his father Christopher Truby's wil l.. However, the christening records give no last name for Marie Elizabeth. Eleanor Truby, J acob Jr.'s wife, is often identified as Christopher's daughter - perhaps John's brother Chris topher's daughter.
