Welcome to my place. This is about one thing SURVIVAL for when the manure has hit the spinning blades,  the ground shakes-rattles-and-rolls, the wind blows, and the rains come and wash everything away. It has tips and guides for disaster preparation and  proverbs and wisdoms to develop your survivor mentality.

(This comes from the NOAA Storm ready web page. There are some important statistics here. Pay attention because even if you think you are safe you are not. The numbers will catch up with you whether you are ready or not.)

Americans live in the most severe weather-prone country on Earth. Each year, Americans cope with an average of 10,000 thunderstorms, 2,500 floods, 1,000 tornadoes, as well as an average of six deadly hurricanes. Potentially deadly weather impacts every American. Some 90% of all presidentially declared disasters are weather related, leading to around 500 deaths per year and nearly $14 billion in damage.

In this day of crazy weather, terrorist attacks, increased seismic activity, I find that many people are unprepared to deal with calamities on the scale recently seen on 9/11 and Mother Natures wrath displayed in September of 2005.

I was born and raised in Louisiana to parents who lived through the Great Depression. From them I have learned frugal living when times are tough. I learned to live off the land and to fix what I have and make what I need. I have lived through tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding there. In my time as an active duty Marine I spent five years in Japan. There I lived through typhoons and earthquakes. I have survived them all because of one simple fact, by the Grace of God, I was prepared. Knowing that life is full of hardships and being able to deal with them when they come will save you from making a complete fool out of yourself on national TV crying for your incompetent GUBMENT to come save you.

So, I am providing as much information as I can find on preparing for the eventual calamities and disaster that will move into your lives. I am not out to make a buck so the information is free. It is the first step to cost effective preparation. Additionally I have provided a number of links, governmental, commercial, and private that provide vaulable and "FREE" information on how to prepare and how to do it cost effectively. In additions much of what I have provided here is out of the box thinking, kind of a McGyver way of doing things. I do it this way because, as money grows tight and times increasingly more difficult for basic survival, it is good to know viable alternatives. Tunnel vision views of things and specialization can often be the cause of your downfall. Knowing how to use things for more than their initial intention will give you countless more opportunity to survive.

I can now add an additional qualification of being a certified CERT (Community Emergency Response Team member). That along with the experience of living with disasters and military training I can attest that 7 P's really work.

I have recently found this PDF file that explains the possible M9 or greater subduction quake some where along the NW Cascacia area. It is 24 pages long and starts with info from past quakes that were used to model this scenario. Most important here is that in Western Washington, the bigger problem will be the aftermath as we are basically going to be cut off from the outside world. This scenario is talking that it will months to recover. If it occurs as they set it in July, the next fall and winter are going to be very tough indeed. So you can prepare now or take your chances later. Just click this paragraph to see the file.

Note: Verizon has shifted to Frontier. In so doing the old Verizon EZ-site builder software is no longer available to me. I now have to do it the old fastioned way with FTP and actual html code. Likewise when Frontier became my ISP I got a new email address. I just realize I had not updated it here. as of a little while ago, I did so. The Email Webmaster link now sends it to a valid email address. Any questions can now be emailed and I will receive them. I am sorry that I did not keep that up during the changes. I have been quite busy watching the world literally fall apart with quakes, storms, uprisings and the many various other problems we now see.
