GIRL SCOUT TROOP ACTIVITIES

Girl Scout Troop 4035 has been doing many different and exciting activities throughtout the past few months.  Some of these included going to see the Hannah Montana movie and a day at the mall, a trip to Idlewild, and a yard sale to benefit the Girl Scout Troop.  They also had a Crossing Over Ceremony and dinner for the families in June.

Upcoming events for the troop include a Day Camp in July, The Starting Points Year-End swim party and cookout on July 10, and the parade for West Union Fest.

If you have a girl in kindergarten through 5th grade, they can still join Girl Scouts.  Next year there will also be a troop for 6th through 8th graders.

If you or your child is interested in participating, please call Amber at 873-3500.

Would you love for your young child to have the opportunity to play and interact with other children their own age while learning skills they will need when entering pre-school or kindergarten? Would you as a parent like to have the opportnity to talk with other parents of youg children and share idea's and experiences? If you have a child between the ages of 3-5 years, then Project ACE ( Adults and Children in Education) could be the thing for you.
The Project ACE ( Adults and Children in Education) program is designed to help parents and their children with skills they will find helpful when they enter school. The transistion period upon entering Preschool and Kindergarten can be a challenging time for small children and their parents. Project ACE is a positive way to encourage independence and build good self- esteem for preschoolers.
Project ACE is offered to you as a free service through Doddridge County Board of Education's Parent/Educator Resource Center, ( PERC). It is not mandatory by law. It is strictly a volunteer program that we encourage parents to participate in. If you may be interested in enrolling your child and need more information  please call 873-2778, ask for Jean or Tina.
