This is a picture of The Paul Davis Show back in 1982 or so.  Pictured from left to right are Paul Davis, Vern Orton (Dobro), Kelly (guitar), Bob Berry (fiddle), Carson (electric guitar), Kenny (drums), Doug Davis (electric bass), myself (banjo), and my Dad, Wally Knecht (guitar).

This is one of my most favorite pictures, showing my Dad, Walter Knecht,  and me.  Dad has supported me so strongly throughout my first 10 years of playing and beyond.  He helped buy me my first good banjo, a Masterbuilt Epiphone.  He also helped start our first bluegrass band, named after our last name, called the Bluegrass Knechtion.  Dad, you're the best!

Alison Krauss and Union Station was playing nearby one day, and I got the opportunity to step up and play Shuckin' the Corn with them.  Pictured is Mike Harmon (banjo), Alison Krauss, myself, John Pennell (bass), and Jeff White (guitar).

This is a band I used to play with called Diamonds in the Rough.  From left to right is myself, Ann Bova, Mark Mathewson, and Steve Clark.  I played mostly mandolin except when Steve picked up the harmonica I played banjo.  I had a lot of fun in this group!

This is a picture of Chris Jones and the Night Drivers at the Dogwood Arts Festival.  Pictured from left to right is Ron Block, Slavek Hanzlik, Chris Jones, and myself.  Yeah, Ron picked up the banjo later and played "Cluck Old Hen", put me right in my place!!  For the latest on The Chris Jones Coalition, click on the link below.

This is a picture of Gabriella, myself, and Bernard from Munich.  Chris's band was playing in town that night at the Rattlesnake Saloon.

This is an earlier configuration of Chris Jones and the Night Drivers:  Greg Luck on fiddle, John Pennell on bass, Chris Jones and myself.  We toured to California and this particular gig was in Texas, I think at the Bluegrass College with Joe Carr and Alan Munde.

This is an early version of Shady Mix from Carbondale, IL.  The photo was probably taken in 1991.  From left to right is myself, Kelly Sims, Geoff Maring, Wil Maring, and Mark Stoffel.  Mark moved to the states from Germany and he and Wil started the band.  When Mark and Wil moved back to Germany, Shady Mix took on a new look.  Now they're back in the states again.  Today Wil, Mark, and Robert Bowlin continue to lead the way in great originals, great pickin', and great vocals.  For more information on Shady Mix, click on the link below.
