Rey & Sherry Garza

Rey and Sherry have showcased and taught at National and State Square Dance Conventions and various special Square and Round Dance events internationally and throughout the country.

​ Rey is a retired Marine, who has been square dancing since 1976 and round dancing since 1981. He started cueing and teaching in 1983 and has lived in and out of California for the last 45 years. Sherry is a former elementary school secretary and has lived in California since 1988. She started dancing ballet and tap at age 3, and studied jazz and international folkdance during college. She began ballroom and round dance in 2006 and square dancing in 2007.

​ They work with two round dance clubs each week and cue for several square dance clubs in the San Diego area, currently on hold due to COVID-19. They hold a Board position on SDRDI, are members of Roundalab and ICBDA.

​ Rey and Sherry live in Vista, California where they enjoy home projects, yoga, traveling, hiking, biking, dance instruction and choreography. They love the time they spend with their beautiful grandkids by babysitting regularly. Rey and Sherry are finishing a complete renovation of their 1955 home from the studs up!

Missy Shinoski

Missy Pearson Shinoski has been clogging 33 years and teaching for 25. She is the instructor/director of the Klogghoppers of Kansas City, MO. The group was formed in 1981 and is a family oriented group. The Klogghoppers enjoy performing and hosting national events. Currently the Klogghoppers are not a competition team, but they were very active in competitive clogging from 1984 to 2003. During this time period, Missy personally won 10 National Solo Grand Champion Titles and her team won over 600 trophies and many National Grand Championships (specializing in the Show & Hoedown categories).

​ In March of 2008, Missy was elected to serve as a board member to the National CLOG Organization. She is also the current Vice President for the Missouri Clogging Council and has served as their Co-President and Co/Vice President in the past. Missy has taught at local, national and international conventions. In 2002, Missy was inducted into the NCHC Hall of Fame. She also created the USA National Dance List (www.Clog.org) in 2000.

​ Missy has taught in Canada several times and she has represented the United States overseas 8 times. First, in 1985, Missy and her brother joined the Ozark Mountain Cloggers on a Goodwill Ambassador tour of Spain and Portugal. Second, in 1990, she was part of a folk festival exchange between Silver Dollar City (Branson, MO) and Italy. Third, in 1994, Missy and fifteen members of her team went to Russia, through a Silver Dollar City festival exchange. Fourth, in 1997, Missy and her team had the honor of performing at the Austrian Alps Performing Arts Festival throughout Austria. Fifth, in 1998, Missy taught and judged in the Czech Republic for the Country Dance & Folk Festival in Prague. Sixth, in 2000, she was selected to teach at the 5th Annual National Australian Clogging Association Convention in Canberra, Australia. Seventh, in 2006, Missy returned to teach for the 11th National Australian Clogging Convention – held on the island of Tasmania. Eight, in 2009, she was the featured clogging instructor at the 50th Birthday celebration for the ECTA Convention in Suhl, German.

​ Missy is certified as a clogging instructor (CCI) and NCHC (National Clogging and Hoedown Championships) judge and judge rule representative. She served as the Executive Director of the American Royal Barbecue Clogging Classic competition for nine years. Missy also hosted the America’s Heartland Clogging Championships for 9 years. She has organized an annual workshop and competition, called The City Slicker Stomp for 11 years (www.CitySlickerStomp.info). November 2007 marked Missy’s 20th year of teaching for the National C.L.O.G. Convention.

​ Missy has choreographed for her own teams, workshops, other competition teams, solos, and duets as well as Silver Dollar City. Her ability in choreography and her teaching clogging has gained national and international recognition. Missy is married and has a daughter. She looks forward to sharing her love of clogging with you.
