I am employed at the Moscow School District as a Network Support Specialist and have
been there since 1997. I have been part of building the network from the beginning.
We currently have over 35 servers and over 1200 workstations. We use the
domain model for this network.
I have built the network at my church, running CAT5e cable and terminating at both
ends. We are using a peer-to-peer network at church. The server I currently
have is a web server. In the near future, I will be setting up another server for
the purpose of backing up staff files on a nightly basis.
I have a Sonic Wall (a firewall and content filtering) at church for protection.
This is primarily for our small lab of 4 computers that is used for the Teen After School
Program. This is a different workgroup than the staff computers. There is one color
printer that each computer prints to.
I have one Wireless Access Point setup in the church office for the wireless devices
we have. In the future, we hope to have Wireless Access Points through out the
church. I have security setup on the access point so it is only accessible for our
church.
We have a Canon copier that is also a network printer. It is setup on the
network and the staff computers can print to it as a second printer.
