I have setup the web site for my church from the ground up. I setup DSL access
at my church and we house our own web server. Using parts I had and parts donated I
built the server. For those interested, it is a single P3 550 with 256MB memory, 2GB
IDE drive for the operating system (Windows NT 4.0), 4GB SCSI drive containing the web
site and a SCSI tape backup drive. I have the backup software setup to backup
weekly, Monday nights at 9:00 pm.
We have our own domain name and our ISP provides email using that domain name.
We record all our services, using the same computer that is connected to the
projector. The computer is connected to the sound system and we use Real Producer to
record just the sermons. Once the sermon is recorded we then copy it to the web
server and link it up. In the near future I want to get a video capture card so we
can record the video as well as the audio.
I work at the Moscow School District as a Network Support Specialist. I am the
primary person that takes care of the district web site. http://www.sd281.k12.id.us
I have built the Sciphre Institute web site from the ground up. From reserving
the domain name to building the actual web site. http://www.sciphre.org
