What is C.E.R.T. and how can I help?

     CERT is a community level organization, supervised by the Fayette County EMA, whose purpose is to offer disaster first-aid, search & rescue, and basic firefighting operations to a community struck by a natural disaster or other devestating incident.
 
     The Fayette County CERT team is charged with many duties during times of need to assist and reinforce our local professional responders.  These duties include:
  • Providing Manpower for Sandbagging details during Flood Season
  • Assisting with Search & Rescue operations
  • Providing Disaster First-Aid during natural disasters
  • Conducting assessments of structural stability during natural disasters
  • Extinguishing small fires during times of natural disasters or other devestating events
