Bernice (Bastianse) Kingma, age 90, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on April 10, 2013. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son, Marcia Monsma and William "Bill" Kingma. Bernice is survived by her husband, Harvey Kingma; son-in-law, Rich Monsma, daughter, Gloria and Lynn Moll; daughter-in-law, Beverly Kingma; daughter, Carole and Lawrence Poll; son, Harvey J. Kingma; daughter, Debra and Dan Smith; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and sister, Trudy and Cornelius Jonker. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Fulton Manor Chapel, 1450 E. Fulton, at 1:00PM with Rev. Harvey Kiekover officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton SE, and visitation will also be held an hour prior to the service on Saturday at Fulton Manor. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Rapids Christian Schools.

Went to be with The Lord January 24, 2013.  Don't say she lost her battle with melanoma because those cells and tumors all died and she lives eternally in heaven per John 3:16.  

Born in Grand Rapids, MI married to Rich for over 47 years and blessed with children Michele (Craig) Wilson, Lora (Michael) Mark, Lynda (Doug) McCready, & son RJ (Staycie) Monsma and 10 wonderful grandchildren, Andrew Limon, Matthew McCready, Caleb Wilson, Jonathan McCready, Aaron Mark, Victoria Wilson, Veronica Mark, Alyssa Monsma, David McCready and Joshua Wilson.

She joins brother Bill Kingma and father-in-law John Monsma in heaven.

Marcia is survived by her parents Harvey & Bernice Kingma. Three sisters  Gloria (Lynn) Moll, Carole (Larry) Poll, Deb (Dan) Smith & a brother Harvey J Kingma.  She is also survived by mother-in-law Ruth Monsma, sisters-in-law Carol (Delmar) DeJong and Mary Monsma and brother-in-law Jack (Leta) Monsma.  There are a host of nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Memorial services will be at 10 am Friday, February 8, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 28355 Baseline, Highland, CA with a reception to follow.
