Steven M. Kuieck, aged 49, of Monterey Twp., Allegan, MI, died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. Mr. Kuieck was born July 26, 1958 in Grand Rapids, the son of Steve Jr. and Orlene (VanderKlok) Kuieck. He was a 1976 graduate of Ottawa Hills High School, Grand Rapids, and had served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed for 15 years at VanEerden Trucking in Byron Center. Surviving are his wife, Joni (Sova); three daughters, Stephanie, Samantha and Ashlee, all at home; mother, Orlene Kuieck of Grand Rapids; one sister, Mary Kay and Tom VandenToorn of Grand Rapids; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may meet with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, and from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Jonah Brewster, brother of Nathan, located in 1812, near the present farm of Joseph Watrous. His house is still standing, being the first one on the road leading to Brooklyn. He was much interested in politics, and once represented this section in the State Legislature. He had five wives (one of whom was a sister of Hon. William Jessup) and ten children. He left Susquehanna County about 1830, and went to Tioga County, where he engaged in the mercantile business. Was appointed to the judgeship to fill a vacancy, and removed to Wellsboro', where he died about 1858, aged seventy-eight. Mrs. Roxanna Brewster died very unexpectedly at the residence of her son, Mr. C. E. Brewster, on Tioga Street, last Sunday at nine o’clock in the morning.  She was eighty nine years old, but very smart and vigorous for so old a person.  She got up Sunday morning and dressed herself and seemed to feel as well as usual; but suddenly she had a difficulty in breathing, and her death followed in a few minutes.  Mrs. Brewster’s maiden name was Roxanna Sprague.  She was born in Massachusetts, and was the fifth wife of the late Jonah Brewster, who died in March, 1858.  She was a woman of unusual intelligence and retained her mental faculties to the last. Mrs. John F. Donaldson died very suddenly last Friday evening at the residence of Mr. Richard Henry, in Charleston, of apoplexy, at the age of 74 years. Mrs. Donaldson had been in her usual health and spirits on the morning of that day, and for only a few moments before her death did she complain of feeling ill. Her maiden name was Violette H. Niles, she being the daughter of Nathan and Ruth Niles and a sister of Col. A. E. Niles, of this borough. She was born in Charleston Township. After she became the wife of Mr. John F. Donaldson they resided upon the Nathan Austin farm near this place until Mr. Donaldson was elected Prothonotary of this county, when they moved to this borough and for many years resided in the dwelling house which stood on the site of the present Jacobsen Block on Main Street. Mr. Donaldson died about six years ago. A few months before his death the couple celebrated their golden wedding. Seven children were born to them, all of whom are still living. Mrs. Donaldson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church from her girlhood. She was an estimable woman and enjoyed the respect of a large circle of acquaintances. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 6 p.m., Rev. Mr. Ware, of St. Paul's Church, reading the burial service.
