The Vinks had seven children, including Gordon, who was born in Spring Lake on June 16, 1918. Walter was a plasterer.

Gordon W. Vink [1918-2003] The son of Walter and Emma Chittenden Vink, Gordon was born in Spring Lake on June 16, 1918. He married Eva C. Strazanac on November 1, 1940 in Grand Haven. Gordon worked for Bastian Blessing for 43 years in the Design Department. Among the clients were McDonald’s and Burger King. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and he was a member of the Spring Lake Country Club and Optimist Club, where he served as President. The Vinks resided at 17390 Fruitport Road. Their four children were Diane J. Snell, Kathy Lane, Robert Vink, and Lawrence Vink. Gordon died in Allendale on September 10, 2003. [Tribune obituary, September 5, 2003.]
