DISC GOLF

SANDY POINT RESORT AND DISC GOLF RANCH
22 challenging holes carved out of the Northwoods, this challenging course is fun for all skill levels. Simply put, disc golf is golf played with a Frisbee-like disc. Your target is the steel basket or pole hole.  No tee-times are necessary, and the course is open year-round. There is a nominal Green Fee which is good for all-day play, and includes a score card, pencil and the use of two golf discs. HIKING & BIKING TRAILS

Trail maps are available at the Minocqua-Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Chamber Office.  ¹User fee required for bicyclists age 16 and over.  Many of these trails also offer X-Country Skiing.

BEARSKIN TRAIL¹
This 18.2 mile, crushed red granite trail stretches from Minocqua to Harshaw on an old railroad bed.  Motorized vehicles are prohibited, except fro snowmobiles in winter.

MADELINE¹
Two miles southeast of Woodruff on Hwy. 47, one mile east on Hwy. J , north 1.75 miles on Rudolph Road.

MCNAUGHTON¹
Thirteen miles south of Woodruff on Hwy. 47, west on Kildare Road.

LUMBERJACK¹
Toke "Old K" east of Bolder Junction to Concora Road or Hwy. M to Hwy. K, east five miles to Nixon Lake Road.  Trail connects with the Escanaba trail.

RAVEN¹
Two miles southeast of Woodruff, Take Hwy. 47, then north 0.5 miles on Woodruff Road.

NORTH LAKELAND DISCOVERY CENTER
Located 24 miles north on Hwy. 51 to Why. W., 1.5 miles to Center.

SCHLECHT LAKE TRAIL
Go 1.5 miles south of Minocqua on Hwy. 51 to Leary Road.

ESCANABA
Take Hwy. M four miles south of Bolder Junction, 3.5 miles east on Nebish Road to trail head.

POWELL MARSH
Eight miles southeast of Mercer, Hwy. 47 to Powell Road, then 0.56 miles north.

SHANNON
Hwy. 155, 2.75 miles north of St. Germain to Lost Lake Drive South, one block north to Found Lake Road, then two miles to trail head.

COPPER FALLS STATE PARK
Easy to find and is on most state maps.

SUPERIOR FALLS
90 foot drop - Located in the Lake Superior/Saxon area.  Take Hwy. 122 north of U.S. 2 about 4.2 miles.  You will cross the Michigan-Wisconsin border.  Continue another .5 miles, then turn left on the gravel road.  A parking lot is available.

PETERSON FALLS
35 Foot Drop - Located on the east branch of the Montreal River.  Start at the Hwy. 51 and 2 overpass north of Hurley and proceed west on U.S. 2 for 0.6 miles.  Turn right on the gravel road at the Ero Nasi Construction Company sign.  Follow this dirt road and continue to travel straight east.  Do not take any side roads that branch off.  Continue for 0.3 miles and park at the small turnaround.  Follow the foot path located on the north side of the parking area.,  It is about 1/4 mile walk to the falls.

POTATO RIVER FALLS
90 Foot Drop - Gurney area.  Head south on Hwy. 169, 2.8 miles through the Town of Gurney.  Turn west on Potato River Falls Road and continue for 1.5 miles.  Campsites and rustic picnic areas are available.

UPSON FALLS
18 Foot Drop - Near the Upson area.  Take Hwy. 77 west from Hurley into Upson.  Turn north at Upson Town Park sign, then left at the end of the street.  After crossing the river, turn left into Upson Town Park.  Camping and picnic area is available.
