Never eat High Fructose Corn syrup; a sweetener preservative, that helps extend the shelf life of foods. It is in processed foods often in high in calories and low in nutritional value.

[Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].                         Psalm 92:14The Amplified Bible Zondervan Pub. Hse.

When to do a self breast exam? The best time to do it is 3-5 days after your period ends.

In his attempt to put a new patient at ease during a checkup, my friend, a gynecologist, struck up a casual conversation. After noticing the label on her sandals read "Hecho en Mexico," he asked, "So, when were you in Mexico?" Flummoxed, the patient asked, "You can tell all that from a pelvic exam?"

Vitamin D

Study finds vitamin D can decrease the risk of Cancer. (12.29.05) 63 studies of the vitamin show a decreased risk of Colon, breast and ovarian cancer. "The benefit of taking vitamin D is as clear as the harmful link between smoking and lung cancer". I didn't get the name.

Phil Kent (Americans for immigration Control) says “it is actually stunning when you consider that the diseases that are coming in because of illegal immigration.” The diseases are Tuberculosis, malaria, leprosy rates and now Hepatitis A. “You take a look at the Texas/Mexican border, you see Hepatitis A, the rate is 2 to 3 times the national average again because of the illegal immigration.”

Centers for disease control and prevention Anthony Fiore said, “If you have a young child, toddler you will probably be asked to have your child vaccinated when you go to your Pediatrician office.”   We want to get the rates lower than they are now, in fact we can even look to the future possibly eliminate transmission in this country if we get enough people to become vaccinated.

No More freezing Bottled Water, Gatorade etc.

This is very interesting, something we need to think about and spread the word to as many women as possible.

John Hopkins has recently sent this out in their newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer; especially breast cancer. Don’t freeze your plastic water bottles with water as this also releases dioxin in the plastic.

Dr. Edward Fujimoto from Castle Hospital was on a TV program explaining

This health hazard. (He is the manager of the Wellness Program at the hospital.)

He was talking about  dioxin and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This applies to foods that contains fat. He said that the  combination of fat, high heat and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.

Dioxins are carcinogens and highly toxic to the cells of our bodies.

Instead, he recommends using glass, corning ware, and ceramic containers for heating food.  You get the same results without the Dioxin.

So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc. should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. Just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He said we might remember when some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

To add to this:

Saran wrap placed over foods as they are nuked, with the high heat actually drips poisonous toxins into the food, use paper towels.

*** I have to say that when I first received this email, I did do research to see what was out there on the different points of view. I cannot remember the sites I looked at, but at the end of the day, I did decide to get rid of all my plastic and bought glass containers.

Message MUST KNOW *677

I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *677. It was about
1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. *Lauren's parents have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road. Rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc. *
Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called 677 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.

Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her.
One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes.

I never knew about the *677 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently, police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe & quiet; place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (i.e. put on your hazard lights) or call *677 like Lauren did.

Too bad the cell phone companies don't generally give you this little bit of wonderful information.

Allergy Survival Tips

“A warm wet weather has caused the worst allergy and asthma season in at least 10 years.

From trees and grass, that gives us the pollen.

Kids are becoming more asthmatic; particularly New York City and inner cities. Kids are allergic to cock roaches; a protein found in the gastric intestinal track along with the ladybug.”

  1. Keep pets off furniture.
  2. Wash bed sheets once a week.
  3. Don’t exercise before a 10 A.M; the heaviest time for pollen is before 10 A.M. Best time after a heavy rain.
  4. Shower and shampoo daily, (shampoo at night).
  5. Use AC in the car, but point away from you.
  6. Use a HEPA air purifier.
  7. Be careful with OTC medicines.
  8. Get an exterminator.

    • “Filters produce ozone and may worsen the asthma.”
    • “The HEPA filter maybe good for dander, such as hair from pets but does nothing for pollen.
    • Pets run around outside, come in jump on your bed and now there is pollen all over your bed.”
    • “Hazel nut coffee worsens allergies to pollen.”
    • “Asthmatics should not use antihistamines. Can often get fatal consequences it causes the secretions to harden up and can stop them from breathing over the long run. So asthmatics should not be taking the antihistamines that most peple would take for allergies.”
    • Avoid nasal sprays with Neosynephrine because they can become addictive.
    • Use your common sense; don’t wear your gardening clothes in the house.

Dr. Steven Garner – NY Methodist Hospital Fox News 3.14.06 Subject Mad Cow and Bird Flu.

Here in the United States there is not an infestation, but say you are in Europe the odds are 1 in 10 billion servings you would contract mad cow disease in an infected atmosphere.

Steps to take to prevent Mad Cow is.

  1. Check origin of processed meat and make sure it comes from the U.S.

A lot of the imported meat still use the process where they mix the spinal cord and the spine material with the rest the meat. The infection is in the spinal cord in the brain. Sausage, hamburger and pizza toppings. Particularly when you are traveling abroad.

  1. Stick to steak and other muscle meat, avoid sausages.

It does not live in the muscle, so do not take a T-bone steak because that is near the bone and spinal cord. Roasts, boneless steaks and fillets are good.

  1. When purchasing medicine abroad, check ingredients for beef.

Gelatin and animal products should be avoided particularly little known companies.

There is a vegetarian gelatin which is fine. Stick to organic meat and kosher meat because the way the animal is killed is less likely that the spinal cord liquid would mix with the meat.

Steps to take to prevent Bird Flu. – “Only for going abroad; the most you have to worry about here in the U.S. is to make sure you chew your food properly to make sure you don’t choke on it.”

  1. Eat well-cooked chicken. Under cooked chicken is going by the wayside in Europe.
  2. Avoid raw eggs and live chickens. This is the only way you can get it. It is easily killed by cooking it. It isn’t like Mad Cow that doesn’t die even if you cook it.
  3. In Europe, only drink bottled water. Fecal material gets into the water.

A very quick read and an important one.

STROKE  IDENTIFICATION

During a BBQ a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up; Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at
6:00pm
, Ingrid passed away at 900pm.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ - had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.

It only takes a minute to read this - Recognizing a Stroke

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally.

He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed and getting to the patient within 3 hours, which is tough.

          RECOGNIZING   A   STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps.            Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

          1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

          2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

          3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
(i.e.. It is sunny out today) If he or she has trouble with any of these
          tasks, call
9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. Widespread use of this test could result in prompt diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people you can bet that at least one life will be saved.
