Julie Davis is the senior pastor of our church. Julie
recently moved to Portland from New Mexico where she was an elder with the New Mexico Conference. She moved here
to be closer to her four-year-old granddaughter, Juliana Smith and 10 month old granddaughter Katerina Joy Smith.
Julie was born in Dallas and moved with her
family to Farmington, New Mexico while still a teenager. Julie came into the ministry after her three children were
adults. She got her Masters of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, Dallas,
TX. Prior to seminary, Julie was a stay-at-home Mom, a Montessori school owner and teacher, an office manager for
a couple of family businesses, a newspaper reporter and a Christian education and program director for her home church.
Julie has three more grandchildren living half-way
around the world. Her oldest son, Andy, lives with his wife Christina and those three grandchildren, Holly, Curran
and Ian in Almaty, Kazakhstan where he is with Campus Crusade for Christ. Her daughter, Julie Carter lives
in Portland and is an environmental attorney. Her son-in-law, Bryan Smith, is a science teacher at Benson High.
Her youngest son David teaches mid-high social studies in Denver, CO.
Julie
takes great joy in serving the Lord and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who know little about Christianity.
She has written and designed and often teaches introductory courses on the Bible and Christianity and the church.
