Harpnhorn - an accidental joining of two beautiful
musical instruments.
How did it start? A horn player married a percussionist, and realized percussion
wasn't an appropriate accompaniment to the beautiful sounds of the French Horn. And the percussionist, already an average
pianist, thought the piano was just too common and easy. After hauling timpani, bass drums, cymbals, keyboard,
the players thought an instrument of an appropriate size and portability would be most suitable. Oh, but what could it
be?
Ah Hah! The beautiful, ancient harp! What, you say, portable?! We think
not! But yes, it was the perfect choice. A pedal harp was acquired from Lyon and Healy in Chicago, and the lessons
began. Practice, practice, practice on the harp, while the horn player, having played for *well* over 40 years just
sat back and watched. (And moved the harp now and then)
