About the Artist

I hate to write about myself, not really knowing what is of interest.  So..here goes..

I have loved engaging in artistic pastimes for as long as I can remember.  I can still recall my kindergarten art projects!

My interest in art has ranged from drawing and painting to pottery, sculpture, fabric art, woodworking and glass.  It's all about what I can get my hands on,  including garden design and house construction!

I do have formal training in the visual arts and earned a BA from the University of Maryland.  I have studied under fine artists and have dervied much inspiration from them as well as the work of artists across time.  I am forever humbled by the incredible work of others!

I often have drawn inspiration from my cultural backgrounds, Japanese and Celtic art.

My first official art studio was located in  Lewisburg, West Virginia, a wonderful fine arts and crafts town.  There, I taught drawing and painting and began my first forays into stained glass.

Eventually, being a "starving artist" became non-viable as my child rearing years began.  Small children, lead and glass shards do not mix. And so, I closed my studio and got a "real job".

Twenty years and much anticipation later, I began to work with glass again.  This art form is the most satisfying that I have engaged in.  It is working with light itself and adding a design element!
