Faith Formation
Dear Parents:
We are pleased to provide faith formation for our parish children. Classes are scheduled on Sundays, which allows children to attend Mass after class. This is done to facilitate the family attending Mass together.

- Classes are offered for children/teens in Kindergarten to the 12th grade.
- Early registration is desired; however, we welcome all children at any time.
- Faith Formation Registration forms should be submitted a week prior to the first day of classes.
- Please follow all instructions on the registration form.
- 28 classes are scheduled weekly and follow the Granville County Schools Calendar.
- Children and young people preparing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist (2nd grade) or Confirmation (10th or 11th grade) must attend classes for two years. They must attend class and Mass regularly to be eligible to receive the sacraments. Students who miss four (4) consecutive classes will be withdrawn from the faith formation program. Students will not be re-admitted to class until a parent meets with either the Director of Religious Education or the Pastoral Administrator to evaluate the situation.
- Classes are offered for older students who have not received the sacraments of Reconciliation or Eucharist. The above attendance requirements still apply.
- If you are a new family to the parish, please follow the instructions on the Faith Formation Registration form and complete both sides of the form. Please provide copies of sacramental certificates for any sacraments received by your child. New family members should complete a Parish Registration form as well.
- Completed registration forms can be mailed or delivered to the parish office. Our business hours are generally Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. We suggest that you call before coming in to make sure we are here.
Volunteer
A successful faith formation program is dependent on volunteer catechists, aides, chaperones and faith formation committee members. We’re always in need of help. We ask that you prayerfully consider helping in the faith formation program.
The Diocese of Raleigh requires that all volunteers in programs with children must comply with certain child protection and safety requirements; this includes training and criminal background checks. Volunteers must be compliant with the Diocesan requirements before working with children.
If you are considering helping in the faith formation program, please notify us as soon as possible so that you have the opportunity to address the Diocesan requirements. Please complete the Faith Formation Volunteer form and return it to the parish office.
