Pastor Bailey loves to share the rich and grace filled
story of Jesus Christ! While on an college spring break trip, Pastor was
blessed with an opportunity to serve on a mission trip in Haiti. Here he began to sense the power of Jesus’
love, especially as seen through the eyes of a people whose hope came not in the life they lived, but in the promise of a
new and rich life found only in the Gospel.
Upon his return, he followed God's call and set aside
his architectural dreams to become a pastor. He graduated from Trinity Lutheran
Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He was ordained into the ELCA in 2002 and has assisted
in leading the ministries of Zion Lutheran in Sandusky, Ohio, The Lutheran Campus Ministry at Ohio State University, St. Mark
Lutheran in Yorktown, Virginia, and St. John Lutheran in Norfolk, Virginia, before taking a Call to serve St. Peter’s.
Now,
nearly six years after accepting the call to St. Peter's, Pastor Bailey marvels at the passionate faith of those within
the congregation. The youth and their eagerness to build a relationship with
God, is humbling, and he looks forward to seeing how God will use each one of them in the future. Indeed, one thing that remains consistent within his life is his longing to share the love of God.
Along
with his passion to share the gospel, Pastor Bailey is a proud father and husband. He
and his wife, Wendy, were married in 1998 and enjoy every day together especially in the presence of their two children John
and Andrew.
