FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES Badger Aerie No. 624, Inc. Eagle Droppings November & December 2009
Words from the Worthy President Wayne Radlinger Sr. People Helping People It seems that I just wrote; "summer is finally here," and here it is gone. Last Friday night my wife June and I stopped in to see how the trustees were doing on their second try at tending bar. Many kudos to Mary Lou Nenning, Jim Copet, Steve Leu and Mike Huber for a great job, June and I had a wonderful time. The raffles were super; the horse races were even more fun. I hope that these guys do this more in the future. If they do, make sure you show up for a remarkably good time, as well as the drink specials. Just a quick update on the Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa: On October 3rd, 2009, the Grand Aerie presented a five million dollar check to the Diabetes Research Center. That is the first of five installments to equal twenty-five million. If anyone wishes to make a contribution please see Rich Weis, andy of the Trustees or myself. Thanks again Trustees for a great Friday Night.
Notes from the Madam President Diana Rogers As we approach the end of 2009, we will be busy. The annual Holiday Parade will be November 19th, call Brenda Ress to help with the float at 659-4224. On December 2nd we have our annual Christmas Pot Luck, bring a dish to pass. We will start at 6:30 and have invited our sisters from Wausau and Merrill as we lost the challenge to them last year. Secret Pals bring your gift for the end of the year and we will draw for new pals for the upcoming year. If you want to exchange gifts bring a $5.00 gift with your name on the inside. Bingo will follow with our excellent White Elephant prizes and a lot of fun. Kids Christmas Party will be on December 13th from 1:00-3:00 with many games and gifts and an appearance from Santa. Call 591-3524 to register so we will know how many to prepare for. ALL AUXILARY DUES ARE DUE BEFORE DECEMBER 31ST!!! Please send them to Sandy Bielen at 514 N Apple Ave. Marshfield, WI 54449, or bring them to the meeting. If you need to leave them at the club do not include them with your husbands dues or the calendars, we will have some envelopes at the bar. Also, include any changes in your address or phone number. Look at last years receipt to know the amount you need to pay. Information From The Aerie Secretary & Business Manager Richard Weis During this special time of year, let us recognize this as Home & Family month. We should all remember to take time to appreciate our families, friends and our fraternal family. Donations of time or to any of our charities, including the building fund. The 2010 raffle calendars are now out, please buy, sell, or return your calendars before December 20, 2009. This is our only fundraising event of the year that we ask all members to help with. Please show your support. All aerie (men) and Auxiliary (women) dues will run out December 31, 2009 please pay them in advance instead of waiting till the last minute: it helps with the cost of postage. We are still looking for someone to step forward to fill the position of aerie treasurer, if you are interested please see Rich, or one of the trustee's. The 2010 Eagles State Scholarship applications are now available at the clubhouse. The 2010 Eagles State bowling tournament entry forms are available at the clubhouse, the tournament will be held in Madison March 6-April 25, 2010. Now is the perfect time to sign up a new member!
