Darrell
is currently serving as the Founder and President of Segue Foundation, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This foundation
offers strategic planning services to denominations, judicatories, local churches, and faith-based, tax-exempt groups. The
foundation has grown to over $600,000 in investment assets, nineteen clients, and a staff of five within its first three years.
The foundation is part of the social enterprise movement integrating business with ministry.
Prior to
founding Segue, Darrell served as the senior pastor of five different congregations as an ordained elder in the Church of
the Nazarene. His work was strongly coupled with ministry development in multi-cultural areas of urban blight. Darrell’s
last church involved the rebirth of a dying church. The congregation relocated to an area of great demand, and constructed
a new worship center. During this time Darrell served on the founding board of Urban Ministries Center, Inc.
As a pastor,
Darrell began his business training as an administrative assistant with National Bancorp, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. Darrell
was directly responsible for oversight of $1.65 million dollars of government grants in a industrial rehabilitation project
totaling $10.7 million dollars. Darrell did commercial credit loan reviews, wrote the loan policy for nonprofits, installed
computer networks, and provided computer training to bank officers and the secretarial pools of the bank.
