Chimera Dance Theater is a nonprofit corporation with the mission to create original and accessible movement
that will inspire future generations of dancers and educate the community about contemporary dance forms.
1. A mythological creature.
2. A fanciful illusion or fabrication. Something imaginary or nonexistent.
3. A fierce, contemporary, dance company.
Chimeras are comprised of a variety of sources that should not be able to coexist in one organism, yet somehow do. Alternately
peaceful, violent, beautiful, and grotesque, the chimera is always intangible and unique.

Chimera Dance Theater was born in December of 2004. Located in Woodinville, Washington, the company has performed at
numerous local shows to positive responses. CDT is a highly collaborative corporation, hoping to mix the diverse talents
and passions of its members with a generous dose of beauty and fun.
Since its inception, Chimera has performed for a variety of festivals and concerts. We have shared our work for a series
at Seattle University, and produced a concert and workshop at Whitworth University in Spokane. Chimera Dance Theater has
been involved since the beginning with Dance For Hope, a series of projects produced by KDC Outreach to raise funds for local
charities. Most recently, we performed an new piece, Wintercrest, for E.P.I.C., a month of unique performances produced by
Walrus Performance Productions.
Each year Chimera Dance Theater also produces an original concert
comprised of our own dances.
CDT thanks all those who have donated time or money to help make this endeavor a possibility. We would especially like
to thank:
Cindy Watts and Alice Madden
Clare and Ariel Schenk
Jim and Suzanne Lofgren
Julie Martinez
Kazuko Burks
Maple Valley School of Ballet
And all others who have donated time, money, or products.
Chimera Dance Theater would like to remind you that all donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
