Steam Trains

My very first job was as an office boy in Chicago, 1953. My daily commute was on a Chicago & NorthWestern steam train. I rode that train for several years. My father worked for the Santa Fe Railway; we rode on steam trains to California and the Pacific Northwest.
I learned to fly in 1957 in a fabric covered Aeronca "Champ". It had an 85 horsepower engine, 2 seats, cruised at 85 mph, and was cold as he!! during those Chicago winters.
Now, whenever I hear a steam whistle or hear a light plane fly overhead, I get wistful...
And: I still long for my 1965 Triumph Spitfire.
