Two members of Union Acres are co-creating
Elder Family, a heart and soul connected family-of-choice, located on 8 acres nestled in a lovely private cove within the larger intentional community.

Our vision is spiritual growth, living close to the Earth, mutual support, and caring for each other as a loving extended family.

We have a unique concept of cooperative/shared home living with each person owning a private bedroom/office/personal bath, but sharing with others a large common kitchen (with individual storage space), living room, sunroom, studio, healing infrared sauna, organic garden, and other common areas. We presently have two new, furnished group homes and a workshop studio with wrap-around decks in a private wooded cove within Union Acres. More group homes are planned.

Shared Activities will likely include group meals, gardening, walking in nature, meditations, fire circles, spiritual discussions, car pool trips to nearby Asheville, movies etc.

If you are seriously interested in Elder Family, we invite you to come for a visit. A longer term stay to live, work, play, and get to know each other is required prior to making any financial commitment. After a six- month guest membership, members buy a share of ownership in the property if they choose to stay.  A lifetime Ownership Membership can be sold with the consensus of Elder Family members.

For more information e-mail  Ann  at annariel@dnet.net or call 828 497-7102.

We are a “family” of loving friends committed to spiritual growth through relationships.

We are part of the larger eclectic community of Union Acres with community building, swimming pool, organic garden, trails, and adjoining 46-acre spiritual retreat center.

Members of Elder family should be past child rearing age and be retired or semi-retired with enough free time to spend on shared activities.  Looking for mid 50s and 60s, non-smokers, healthy, financially secure. Financial stability is a must. We are looking early on for shared ownership. Ideally, potential members would be experienced with harmonious, cooperative consensus groups. We are seeking people who are interested in healthy eating and in mutual support for physical and emotional health, and who share a passion for exploring the spiritual side of life.
