Ashley Construction is owned and operated by David and Carrie Gates. We have a commercial contractors license and
have been building and remodeling homes for over 14 years. We have remodeled old houses, seemingly from scratch, set
and completed modular houses in conjunction with R-ANell Homes, constructed new site built houses, added garages and
other additions, and rebuilt houses after extensive fire damage. Please check out some of the photos of our work.
David is totally blind, the first blind contractor in North Carolina to complete the course work and pass the contractors
exam. He has a trusted crew of workers, all with many years of building experience, yet the attention to
detail comes from David's hands-on approach. He can truly "see" more with his hands than many sighted people can with
both eyes.
David offers houses built to meet the needs of many young families, priced in a range that is quickly becoming impossible
to find in the mountains of Western North Carolina. He will build on your own lot, using your design or one of ours,
often saving countless dollars, and assuring you have the exact location you desire.
We have many options for your home, from siding to hardwood floors to stainless steel appliances. We also offer
the latest "green" advances, from water saving gutter systems, to carpet made from soy or recycled plastic bottles.
