Mr. John Piet Jarboe, 67, of Washington, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Sibley Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Marilyn Mack Jarboe. They were married for 45 years.

He was a second-generation and lifelong Washington resident.

He graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School and attended Georgetown University.

In the early 1950s, he served in the Navy.

He began a real estate career in 1955 with Fred A. Smith Co., then from 1960 to 1977 was with Shannon & Luchs. In the early 1980s he joined American Security & Trust Company as a trust officer, and remained there about 12 years before retiring.

He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victor Catholic Church in Washington.

Surviving in addition to his wife are seven children, Suzanne Jarboe Simpson of Fort Collins, Colo., Leslie Jarboe Leadbeater of Ridgely, John P. Jarboe Jr. of Frederick, Sheila Jarboe Laybourn of Germantown, and Teri Jarboe, Mary Catherine Jarboe and Jenifer J. Bouchard, all of Washington; one sister, Georgia Jarboe Petsche of Bethesda; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael DeSales Jarboe, in 1993.

She and her brother John spent their childhood in residence at the historic Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.Marilyn was a graduate of Stone Ridge Country Day School and attended Seton Hill University.After her children were grown, Marilyn combined her love, knowledge and talent for cooking, and started a career at Williams - Sonoma where she worked for over 20 years until her retirement at the age of 77.Marilyn was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where she served as Usher and Volunteer until the age of 83.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, 4835 MacArthur Blvd. NW Washington, DC 20007, on September 24, 2020. Georgia (Piet) Jarboe's death certificate is needed to verify her parents' names. The current theory is that she is the daughter of Raichard L. Piet who died 11 Oct 1910 in White Plains and Georgia J. Piet who died 16 Feb 1904. Since Richard was in his teens at this time we assume he married Georgia in 1903.

There is a 23 Feb 1903 marriage certificate for Georgiana J. Prior and John B. Piet in White Plains, New York. These are now the most likely parents for Georgia M. Piet.

The 1925 NY State census lists Georgia M Piet as a grand-neice of Micheal Padian, age 75. This could be a clue about her parents.

    Mrs. Eugene D. Jarboe, 47, wife of a dentist in Washington, D. C., died Friday after a long illness at her residence. 3133 Connecticut Avenue. N. W. Dr. and Mrs. Jarboe spent the summers at their home in Tappan.
    The former Miss Georgia Piet, she was born in White Plains, but spent most of her childhood in Scarsdale. She was graduated from the Georgetown Visitation Convent in 1925 and lived for a number of years in the Mayflower Hotel. In 1930, she was married to Dr. Jarboe.
    Mrs. Jarboe was a member of the Restorers of Mount Carmel, the Inner Wheel, the Alumnae of Georgetown Visitation Convent and the Congressional Country Club.
   She also is survived by a son, John Piet Jarboe, and a daughter, Georgia Marie, both of the home  address.
   Mass was sung this morning in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be tomorrow in Calvary Cemetery, Long Island, N. Y.
