RICHARD L. PIET DEAD.
Richard L. Piet died on Tuesday night. He had been in at his home at 54 Grand street for over four weeks. During all of the latter part of this illness he has been very close to death, but he fought bravely and a few days before he died a turn for the better gave ground for hope that he might live.

He is survived by his mother. A peculiarly distressing feature of Mr. Piet's death is the fact that it leaves his mother alone after burying three children in little more that a year. He was twenty-four years of age, a young man with splendid prospects. He was a lawyer.

Mr. Plet has always lived in this village. He was graduated from the High School to the class of 1902 and entered the law office of Farley & Romsey a year later. Since entering upon the study of law there, he completed the two year course at the New York Law School, and was admitted to the bar.

He has always taken a noticeable part in the social life of the village. He was a member of the White Plains Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Orchard Club. He was treasurer of the last named organization.

The funeral was held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock in St. John's Church. Interment was in Calvary, L. I.

A year ago last August, John Piet & brother, died in San Francisco while on his way home from the Philippines. He had been in those islands in the service of the United States, and almost the first word the family had of his illness was the news of his death. A sister died shortly before.
