Jim leaves behind wife, Sandra Kirby, children, Kristy Lordan, Terri Torres, and Don Mcgaffigan, grandchildren, Jessika
Calkins, Sean, Matthew, Michael, and Christopher Lordan, Tamara and Micah Torres, sister, Jeanne Murphy, and nieces, Missy
Murphy, Kathy Tremblay, Louise Doria, and Linda Miller, nephews, Jerry Murphy,and Jim Colangelo.
1956: Graduated from New Rochelle High School, New Rochelle, New York. Class President junior & senior years.
1960: Attended Holy Cross College in Worcester & graduated Fordham University with a major in marketing. During college
years became part of a popular New Rochelle trio harmonizing with Bill and Macy (Bianco) Murphy as The Beechmonts.
1961-1964: While serving in the U.S. Army in Nurnberg, Germany he formed his second singing comedy trio, the Yesteryears,
with Dennis Turecheck and Jim Yester. Thanks to his marketing skills and Irish gift of gab, the group proudly served their
country by traveling throughout Europe and entertaining troops.
1965-1972: At the end of the army duty Jim returned to Holyoke, MA after a short time as a representative for Linweave
Fine Papers division of U.S. Envelope. He became Sales Manager of Radio Station WSPR.
1970-1971 President of the Ad Club of Western, MA.
1972-1976 Resided in Montgomery, MA were he championed the first Montgomery Winter Olympics.
1975 Jim traveled to Los Angeles, CA to continue his career in Radio Commercial Production.
1976 President of Media Music Inc.
1982: Bert, Barz & Kirby was formed.
1982: Recipient of Clio Award for Humor.
1987: Lifetime Achievement Award for Creative Excellence from the National Advertisers and the Radio Advertising Bureau.
1987: Orson Welles Award for Creative Excellence.
1988: Formed Jim Kirby & Company.
1991: Beloved husband of Sandra (Sandy) Lorraine Kirby (Greuling) whom he married on married October 19th.
1991: The Hollywood Radio and TV Society International Broadcasting Awarded to Jim Kirby & Company for Worlds Best Radio
Public Service, also Worlds Best Radio Spot promoting environmental awareness.
Jim went on to retire in Charleston, SC, Wareham, MA, and Little River, SC. After retirement, Jim spent most of his time
visiting an array of his favorite doctor's office's and still enjoyed writing.
At this time Jim is dead, and would like to remain dead.
