Hi, and welcome to this introductory course on digitizing video. In addition to serving as a final project for a course about online learning that I was involved with, it is my opportunity to share with you what I've learned so far about the amazing field of digital video.

It is intended to serve as a primer for someone who knows very little about digital video and in particular, someone who perhaps has a library of analog video camcorder tapes whose longevity they are concerned about.

The basic units are shown at the left and I suggest that you take them in the order presented to best facilitate your understanding of the material. However, if you have a little knowledge already and want to skip sections to get right to something that you're interested in doing or learning now, that could certainly be done too.

Let's have some fun and start building your knowledge of digitizing video!
