TIME OF COMMITMENT
When we realize that we are in need of a Saviour and accept Jesus as our Lord and receive that blessed gift of salvation, then on our profession of faith and baptism, we agree to follow Jesus all the days of our lives, something wonderful happens!  The weight of the world has been lifted, our slate is clean and our hearts are overflowing with unspeakable joy!  We are super sensitive to the people around us.  We want them to feel and experience that joy with us!  Our commitment to the Lord is fresh and strong!  Then something else happens, we return to our daily routines.  Lifes daily trials and troubles continue and our hearts begin to wax cold.  Without that daily reading of God's Word, without the fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ to keep that fire going, that joy will begin to diminish.  Just as our physical bodies need food to sustain us, we need God's Word to sustain our hearts (spirit).  As long as we abide in Jesus everyday in all that we do, we can be sure our commitment is strong and obey and trust him in every situation.

WORKING FOR JESUS
Working for Jesus, it sounds great, but it is one of the hardest things for Christians of all ages to struggle with.  Mainly because we feel there is little we can do that would make a difference.  After all, all of the bases are covered aren't they?  We have television and radio evangalists daily.  There are the big Christian networks like TBN and CBN being broadcast all over the world by satellite and the Internet.  We can support them with finances then hope and pray for the best.  I think the problem lies in the "making a difference" catagory.  We all want to make a difference, but on a grand scale!  Can a child of God make a difference on a grand scale? Yes! He can!  God has chosen a few throughout history to make a difference on a grand scale, like Abraham, Moses, Jesus etc...  However, we can all make a difference in the lives of the people God puts in our path.  Only God knows the fruits that will be produced from that person who's life you changed by being there to encourage in some way.  Jesus said it this way in Matthew;

Mat 25:35-40 I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.'

The righteous will then answer him, 'When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?  When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?'

The King will reply, 'I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!'

FOLLOWING JESUS
Sister Sylvia gave us all a scare today during service.  I couldn't help but think that if it was her time to go, what better place to go than in the presence of Jesus and your brothers and sisters?  In Matthew 18:20 Jesus said, "For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them".  Even with all the pain and suffering she was experiencing from her poor health and somehow knowing the sanctuary was going to be "warm" she made the effort to follow Jesus and come to church.  May God bless her and restore her health so she and her husband Brother Jim, can continue to be a testament to us all to follow Jesus no matter what!

This week's memory verse

1 Samuel 16:7  The Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

COAT DRIVE - We want to bless people this winter by providing them with a coat, hat, scarf or gloves.  If you have any of these items in storage, in closets or simply laying around in the way and you KNOW you will most likely never wear these items again, please bring them in to the church so that they can be bundled up and given to someone who could really use them now.  God bless you as you give.

FAMILY BIBLE STUDY - We want to invite you to come to our Family Bible study.  You will get sound Biblical teaching and great fellowship.  It begins at 10am and we have a class just for you.

SPECIAL MUSIC - We are in need of singers and musicians for our special music for Sunday morning.  If you would like to help, please let Shirley King know or call (269) 303-0330.

JUST ASK SOMEONE - This week will you ask someone to come to church?  It is easy to do.  Just try and see what happens.

REMINDER: We have a Prayer dish and Praise dish in the foyer.  All are welcome to put your requests in and we will pray over these and add them to the next bulletin for prayer. You can also go to the prayer section of this website to submit prayer requests online.
