Welcome!

Movies, history, current events, disability issues.  Let's explore...

What does it mean to be a dork?  It means to be interested in things that most people just aren't interested in.  In this day and age if you're not into mainstream music and movies or left wing ideology you're considered to be a dork.  Well, so be it.  Welcome to Dorkville!  Let's have some fun!

Dawning of a New Day
I cannot think of a more appropriate day to start my blog than the inauguration of the first African-American president.  This is truly a remarkable day in history which we should all relish in for its historical importance if for no other reason.

When the dust settles and the pagentry fades away Mr. Obama will settle in to the real task at hand.  The question will then become whether or not Obama can make good on all of his lofty promises, including the promise to drive the deficit sky high with all that new spending.  Why was Obama elected?  It wasn't because of his campaign.  It wasn't because of his wonderful oratory skills.   Of course, it had nothing to do with the color of his skin.  The real reason Obama was elected is because he is a democrat.  The majority of Americans are so fed up with Bush that Mickey Mouse could have run on the democratic ticket and would have been elected!

When the dust settles and the pagentry fades away Americans will finally come to realize that Barak Obama is just a man.  He is not the political Messiah that the mainstream media has made him out to be.  Obama has not declared himself as this political Messiah but he sure has taken advantage of the mainstream media's endorsement.  I heard they scratched the one inaugural activity where Obama was going to walk on the reflecting pool.

For better or worse Barak Obama is now our President.  The president of the USA is the president of every citizen.  That's what left wing idealists who protested Bush and the war in Iraq don't seem to get.  Rather you voted for the person or not the president is your President and Commander-in-Chief.  War protesters do not seem to get the fact that you can't protest against the Commander-in-Chief and claim to support the troops at the same time!

All that notwithstanding...we have a new President.  It is a new day.  Alright Mr. President, our political Messiah, let's see what you got!
