My Service to NRA

Benefactor Member of NRA.

My committee assignments on the Board of Directors are as Chair of the Audit Committee, and as a member of the Finance Commitee and the Shotgun Shooting Committee.

As a member of the Board of Directors since 1998, I have only missed two meetings, both for family reasons of some significance.  One absence was due to my brother-in-law's wedding, and the other absence was due to an emergency surgery for my mother for colon cancer.

I have performed other services for NRA in the following capacities:

NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator for Michigan's Seventh U.S. Congressional District.

NRA Heritage Society Ambassador

Treasurer - Lenawee County Friends of NRA - from 1998 to present.  Since its inception, this event has raised close to $400,000 net for the NRA Foundation.  We are a "High Caliber Committee" and one of the top 50 FONRA events out of the 1,000 plus banquets held throughout the USA.  On a personal note, I have been a Sponsor of our event since its inception.

Member - Whittington Center Founders Club

NRA Certified Instructor

Visitations to Shooting and Other Events

I take my responsibilities as a Board Member seriously, especially the duty to be an “ombudsman” on behalf of NRA.  As such, I have taken it upon myself to be visible as a Board Member at as many events as is possible for me.  For example, while it was at Vandalia, Ohio, I attended NRA Day at the Grand American for several years.  I have also shot in two matches at Camp Perry:  the Harry Reeves Revolver Match in 2003 and the Made in America Small Bore Match in 2004.  I’ve have also attended annual meetings for Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association, and I’ve “shown the colors” for NRA at MUCC’s Oudoorama event.  I presented trophies at Michigan’s State Pistol Championships in 2003.  Finally, I attended the Ohio Gun Collector’s Annual Meeting in 2004.  Most recently, I attended the Blackhawk Rifles banquet at Camp Perry, and I have been a speaker at events held by Centerline Gun Club, the Great Lakes Sport Shooting Association (GLSSA) and the Shooters Alliance for Firearms Rights (SAFR).
