Scenes from around Oregon while out rockhounding.

Mamma and Baby
doefawn.jpg

Mother doe and fawn walking along next to the road on the way into Congleton Hollow to colect Paulina pink limb casts.  They were slightly caustious, but did not run away while I was taking pictures.

Can you spot the deer in the picture above?  While rock hounding in the Ochoco Mts. of Oregon, it came into my camp one day while I was eating lunch.  I sat quietly and watched as it wandered on by.

Horses outside of Prineville OR.

These horses were grazing in a field along highway 395 on the way to Maury Mt. and Congleton Hollow.  I've seen lots of other wildlife along the way as well.  Deer, rattle snakes, rabbits, and bird of all kinds just to name a few.

A waterfall along I84 east of Baker.

This water fall is off to the north as you drive east of Baker Oregon on your way into Idaho and beyond.  I was on my way to Jackpot Nevada to collect thunder eggs, petrified wood, paisley agate, pink limb casts, and more.

The view north from Maury Mountain Agate Beds.

This is the view north from the Maury Mountain Agate Beds located approximately 35 miles southeast of Prineville, Oregon.  You can find red, yellow, gold, brown, green, black, and purple moss agate at this dig.

On top of everything

Forest Service Road 27. About as high as you go in the Ochoco's.

High in the Ochoco mountains along forest service road 27.  This is about as high as you can drive in these mountains.  This picture does not show the total grandure of the view.
