This Organization will be a door steps for us to stay connect to all these resources of services in which we need the most in the community every day.
                                  About Us
The Hmong people refuged from Laos since 1975 and settled in Thailand for a short period of time. In 1976, some of us started coming to the United States of American in where we call third country of our destination resettlement for our next future home. Many of us came to the United States of American and lived in many different States for the first time. We were like a baby just born want to talk and clearn how to walk. Many of us could not speak any word of English and hadn't even before separated from brothers, sisters, mother, father, or cousins. We were very lonely while stayed with sponser in the United States. After we have lived for couple years, we started moving places to places and states to states to reunion with the family members, and close relatives. It was then where we wanted our actual home will be. Many of us are still moving in the country and state to find a better place to live and become the future home. Here in Oregon State, where we moved here from many other states and want resettlement in our future home for our children to grow and our retirement place. The weather here is very nice not too hot during summer months, and it is not to cold in winter months. There in Oregon State has four of the truely seasons for colorful of trees change their colors within mountain range and mother nature surrounding is with pretty feactures and for that has many resources.  Many of us have lived in the State of Oregon since 1976, and most of us settled in the earlier 1980. We were over 4500 people resided in the three counties most of us lived in Multnomah County. Most of Hmong Clans moved to California in the earlier 1982 after that we only had 560 people remaining lived in Oregon State. Now many of them returned back to Oregon in the earlier 1997 to build their future families and dream home in the State of Oregon and retirement in the Pacific Northerwest for years to come.
We have been living in the State more than thirty years ago. In three decades ago, we live in Portland and would like to build a good community and share the same ideal and thought to become a healthy community.

Our old homeland is one of the third world in where we came from and now we are here in the future and life is challenged for everyone elders and youths  here in the United States of American. We also want to stay connect with the mainstream and work together to build our community and our children future blending with many of  Oregonias. We are sure that  it is a big gap between the parents and children in our culture and customs. Our lives style are different from in the United States of American; many of  new technologies drive us crazy and the language as well, so that we established Hmong Association of Oregon, Inc. will work together to bring the elders and youngsters together to close the big gap in where many families have been torn apart. We want to keep teaching our children Hmong Language, Culture, Heritage, etc..and show them to remember Celebration the Hmong New Year for many years to come.

We invite anyone who is interesting in the same issues, topics, and focuses in same direction; therefore, we have always counted on members who focus in efforts and perspectives. Members must be able to dedicate enough time to participate and make a decision to make a difference in the organization. We have been looking for people who want to challeng, thinking positive, motivate, maner, community involvement, build leadership, and want to make a better future in the community are welcome to Hmong Association of Oregon, Inc.
