Studebakers
The dread genetic disease Studephilia runs in the Wells family. Larry has a full-blown case, and he drives a 1964 Avanti. David is in denial, but has been caught drooling at 1953 Commander coupes. Help for those afflicted with Studephilia can be found at the Studebaker Driver's Club.
Racing
We like auto racing. Real auto racing, such as CART, IRL, SVRA, SCCA, etc. No NASCAR for us. We hate the CART/IRL Civil War, and wish that they Powers that Be would come to their senses and put things back together. See our report on Indy '99. (another work in progress) Larry is active in the Finger Lakes Region SCCA, and races his '71 Capri 2000 in SCCA Solo II autocross. He's the 1998 H-stock champion! (Of course, there's not that much competition in H-stock.....) Dave tried it once, and liked it, but doesn't have enough time to do it all.

And now, for something completely different: we're Python fans. Like Trek, Python can be hit-or-miss, but when they were on target, they were really funny. Favorites include Cannibalism in the Royal Navy, the Bruces, (and yes, we can sing the Philosophy song) the Ministry of Silly Walks, the Spanish Inquisition, (bet you didn't expect that!) and of course the Parrot Sketch. Bits of Python tend to creep into our conversations, so beware.

Wargaming
We like wargaming, (the old-fashioned kind with cardboard counters on a board) but unfortunately, we've had little time to do it lately. Some games we've played in the past include Harpoon, Victory in the Pacific, War at Sea, Victory at Sea (the combined VITP and WAS) Starfleet Battles, and Federation and Empire. Due to time restrictions, we've been playing more of the "Beer & Pretzels" games, such as Nuclear War and Illuminati. We don't get time to play even these very often anymore.

Cake
Our sister Beth makes the world's best chocolate cake. She got the recipe from an old Family Circle magazine years ago, but we think she's tweaked it a bit over the years. Don't ask about the calories. Here's the recipe.
