I moved to Durham in 1976 to start a mime company. Touch Mime Theater performed for 17 years to over a half million people in the southeast. I also hosted the Women’s radio program at WDBS Duke University’s commercial radio station back in the late 70’s and was the voice and puppeteer of Barney (Barney’s Army), not the purple dude, but the cult like host of television re-runs of such shows as Rocky and Bullwinkle, Laverne and Shirley, and assorted Hanna Barbera classics (www.barneysarmy.com). I’ve been in a few films: the locally produced, Chesterfield, the made for TV remake of Member of the Wedding, a Stephen King thriller, local dyke films, Phoenix, and Bang or a Whimper, not to mention the numerous industrial videos, voice-overs and commercials.

I teach theater on a consulting basis and take full responsibility for inspiring numerous young people into careers in acting, dance and film thus joining the ranks of the unemployed.
