Goodfellow AFB is located near San Angelo, Texas. San Angelo
is in the Southwest quadrant of Texas.
The first thing I noticed about Goodfellow was that the wind
was always blowing. The wind did influence the hot weather, causing the high temperatures to be at least tolerable.
We were housed in a wooden barracks, very similar to the one that we occupied at DLIWC. I can't remember
too much about this particular school other than we were taught how to operate and maintain a tape recorder. I do remember
the instructor was a little bit gung ho.
We marched from the barracks to the school site, led by Sgt. Sanders, who tried to present a stern military
persona, but who in reality was not the task master.
