Here's a 1935 Detrola, chassis number 5W, 5 tube, 2 band, very deco tombstone radio. Don't know the radio
model, not listed or pictured in any of my books or in the Radio Attic Archives website (hey, give me a hand out there,
guys!) or anywhere on the internet. Never seen one like it anywhere. Picked this one up for very little.
Believe it or not, the thing actually worked when I got it home, although the power transformer was on it's last legs.
Put in a brand-spanking-new Hammond power transformer, and it works great. Haven't done a thing to the case on this
one yet, just replaced all the capacitors, some of the wiring, and the power cord. It will be a real looker when
done. My first Detrola.
Update, 14 NOV 06: Stripped the cabinet, ready to refinish.
A 1936 Philco model 650, 8 tube, 4 band shouldered tombstone radio with shadow tuning meter, two #42 push-pull output
tubes, a #42 driver, and a #78 R.F amplifier tube. A great working radio, and a very mellow tone out of the 8 inch
speaker! Fascinating back-lit dial pointers! Haven't restored the cabinet on this one yet, but working on it.
Update, 07 NOV 06: Stripped the cabinet, obtained a new original-pattern grillecloth, and have started refinishing
the case.

Here we have a Fairbanks Morse model 5106, 5 tube AM cathedral/tombstone radio, ca. 1934. These are
kind of scarce. Still haven't restored the cabinet on this one yet, but will do so very soon.
Update, 14 NOV 06: Have stripped the cabinet and obtained a new original-pattern grillecloth. Won't be long
now!
