Dairy Alternatives with Chef Stacy Kosha

What: Stacy Kosha is a recent graduate of Bauman College's Natural Chef program. The word Sozo is a Hebrew term that means to restore, to save, and to be made well. After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2007, Stacy's health was restored through following a gluten-free diet. Her goal is to help others return to an optimum level of health through whole food nutrition. In this class, Stacy will present a discussion addressing individuals needs associated with dairy intolerance as well as dairy-free recipes to incorporate into your daily routine. Interaction with Stacy, health and nutrition information as well as recipes and food samples will be provided.

$15 fee and pre-registration at the register is requested.

ORGANIC Pre-Order Produce

When: Mondays, 1:00pm-6:00pm

Where: In store

What: Would you like to save 20% on your produce each week? Simply email the store with subject line "Pre-Order Produce" so we can add you to our email group. Each Wednesday you will receive a list of produce and prices to select from. Order as much or as little as you choose. All produce must be picked up Mondays from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. It's a great way to S ~ A ~ V ~ E!

Profitable Hightunnel Management Webinar

When: Tuesday, May 6, 7:00pm-8:00pm

Offered by: Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) and Countryside Conservancy

What: The webinar will be presented by Adam Montri, Michigan State University (MSU) Hoophouse Specialist. Adam is also the owner of Ten Hens Farm, a year-round specialty crop farm. Adam works with farmers through both the MSU Student Organic Farm and the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems, providing assistance and consultation to growers constructing hoophouses. He has delivered hoophouse workshops and presentations across the country. Topics of focus for this one-hour webinar will be identifying cost of production; fertility, disease and pest management; profitable crops and cultivars; successful rotations; pricing of product; and marketing strategies.

A Mother's Day Celebration Brunch

When: Saturday, May 10, 10:00am-2:00pm

Where: In store

What: A simple, deliciously healthy gathering to celebrate our Moms. The Cafe focus is on seasonal dishes including LOCAL and ORGANIC nutrient dense foods with gluten, dairy and meat free options. We will also have live music by Jennifer McCord and special guests, local dairy farmers from Katieland Dairy with grass fed, organic dairy samples.

LOCAL Matters for Health and Wellness: Living in Full Effectiveness (LIFE)

What: Mo. will present a discussion on her journey to wellness that includes discovering whole, nutrient dense foods that heal the body. She will define terms, present statistics and inspire listeners to become LOCAL food advocates.

Hot Topic Coffee Hour: Flouride

When: Thursday, May 29, 6:00pm

Where: In store

What: Join Logan Smith, a 23 year old who served in the US Army and was later discharged due to suffering from grand mal seizures, for this discussion on Fluoride. Through his personal research of fluoride and how it affects our health, Logan will present a discussion on the many sources of fluoride, how our bodies react to exposure, and how we can reduce contact with this element.

Come enjoy a cup of hot fair trade coffee or tea as we share hot topics that impact our community and our lives. (NOTE: Cold and/or naturally caffeine free varieties also available.)
