Youth Art Classes (ages 3-18)

   
 
Creative Claytime (ages 3-6)
This is the perfect time for your child to explore this sumptuously tactile medium. Kids will form and shape the clay into amazing projects and then finish with colorful glazes. Parents are welcome to stay during class.
Sculpture and glazing.
Instructor: Melanie Pollon and Sarah Westfall
Session 1: Tuesdays, 1-2pm
Session 2: Fridays, 10:30-11:30am. This session will include drawing and painting.
$75 per month.
   
  Emerging Artists (ages 5-7)
Start cultivating your child’s artistic talent at an early age. This class is the perfect introduction to the skills and techniques of drawing, the world of expression and all the enchantment art holds. Their creations will be enjoyed by you for years. Drawing, portraiture, painting, sculpting, glazing, mixed media, and printmaking.
Instructor: Sarah Westfall.
Session 1: Tuesdays, 4-5pm.
Session 2: Wednesdays, 4-5pm.
Session 3: Thursdays, 4:15-5:15pm.  
HOME SCHOOL Session 4: Fridays, 10:30-11:30am. This class is combined with the Creative Claytime Session 3.
$75 per month.
   
 
Basic Drawing & Beyond (ages 8-14)
Drawing can be so much fun! It’s also true that accomplished drawing is the gateway to producing great art. Whether you want your child to learn how to draw or they are already showing signs of artistic talent, this is the class to improve their skills. We will focus on the basics and then amplify their projects using ink, charcoal, pastels, and paint.

Tuesdays, 4:15-5:45pm.
$75 per month.
   

Absolute Artists (HOME SCHOOL, 7 and up)
Join our thriving home school community of dedicated artists and innovators! Learn classic art techniques while pushing the envelope of self expression.
Drawing, perspective, portraiture, painting, sculpting, design, and mixed media.
Instructor: Susan Jenkins
HOME SCHOOL: Fridays, 10:30am-12pm.
$75 per month.
   
 
Painting & Potting (ages 8-14)
If you love to throw on a wheel, this is the class for you! But wait there’s more! In this class you can have it all: throw, draw, paint, sculpt, and have a blast exploring your artistic abilities. 
Throwing on the wheel, sculpting, glazing, drawing, and painting.
Instructors: Susan Jenkins & Carol Gould
Thursdays, 4:15-5:45pm.
$85 per month.
   

Drawing, Sculpture, and Wheel Throwing (ages 8-14)
If you love creating both 2D and 3D art—this is the class for you! First, study the subject that you will sculpt through drawing and references. Second, learn techniques in sculpting in different types of clay as well as other mediums. Third, have so much fun!

Fridays, 4-5:30pm.

  Nothing but Clay and Wheel Throwing (ages 8-14)
Designed to maximize student’s time on the wheel, this class will have a maximum of eight potters. Discover the joy of wheel throwing as you learn to center, raise, carve, trim, and glaze! 
Throwing on the wheel, sculpting, and glazing.
Instructor: Carol Gould.

Mondays, 4-5:30pm.
$85 per month.  
   
  Friday Art Hang Out (ages 11-15)
Spend time with friends, make new friends, listen to music, and create something amazing.
Drawing, painting, sculpting, glazing, mixed media, and printmaking.

Fridays, 4:00-5:30pm.
$75 per month.
   
 
Master Artists (ages 15 and up)
Tap the secrets of expression that give life and magic to your portraits and drawings. We’ll explore such diverse topics as dreams and emotions with a special emphasis on portraiture as we perfect our skills while developing compelling art.
Drawing, portraiture, painting, portfolio preparation, sculpting, mixed media, and printmaking.
Instructor: Susan Jenkins.
Wednesdays,
4-5:30pm.
$75 per month.

Private Lessons
Want some one-on-one instruction?  Schedule private lessons with one of our teachers!
 
Cost is $40 an hour plus $15 for each additional half hour. For semi-private lessons, each additional person receives 50% off the above price. For clay lessons, please add $7 per person for firing and handling costs.
Center Rental
Need space for a meeting or get together? To rent the entire studio it is just $50 an hour!
 
Birthday Parties
 Cost for a 2 hour party, 1 hour art instruction
Up to 10  guests: $180
11-20 guests:  $230
For clay projects, please add $7 per person for firing and handling costs.


Open Studio Time
Here you’ll have all that you need to create amazing art at your fingertips.
 
Cost is $5 per person per hour. If you want to work with clay there is an extra $5 an hour firing fee. You will need to purchase your own clay.

Adult Classes (ages 16+)

   
  Adult Pottery
Have you always wanted to experience the sensuousness of clay at the potter’s wheel? This is the class for you! One-on-one instruction from a talented potter and 3 hours of free studio time per week—so much fun and a great resource to improve your finished work! 
Wheel throwing, sculpting, glazing. Instructor: Melanie Pollon
Session 1: Mondays, 7-9:30pm.
Session 2: Tuesdays, 9:30am-12pm.
Cost: $130 per month.
   
   

Workshops for all Ages

Take a Mom and Me Class with your child (great for Dads and the whole family!) Creating artwork with your child strengthens family bonds and yields cherished treasures that become more valuable as time goes by. Recommended workshops for parents and kids are designated by a symbol ~. Adults are welcome singly.

 
Ceramic Mask Workshop~
Masks are not only a thrill to make but they are a striking work of art. Your creation will look spectacular hanging in your home. 
Instructor: Sarah Westfall
Saturday, April 25th, 1-3pm and Saturday, May 16th, 1-2pm
Cost: $60 for two session workshop. All supplies are included.
Summer Color Watercolor Workshop
Draw and paint a striking floral bouquet with master watercolorist, Susan Jenkins. There’s no better way to improve your paintings than through the observation of life. Tips will be given on understanding and translating what is before your eyes. We’ll learn to compose and simplify our initial drawings and create a value study. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy together. During the afternoon we’ll discuss techniques to show depth, texture and create glowing colors.
Saturday, April 18th, 10am-2pm. All levels of painters are welcome!
Cost: $55 for one-time session. All supplies are included. Sign up for both watercolor workshops for $85!
   
  Teacher and Art Docent Training
Do you love art and want to volunteer through your school’s Art Docent Program? Are you worried about what and how to teach? Let us give you the answers. We’ll give you 5 foolproof lessons that are guaranteed to help your students explore and engage with art. By attending a session with us, we’ll give you everything you need to know to take directly back to the classroom. Contact your school and bring a group! Instructor: Susan Jenkins.

  Girl Scout Badge Workshops (Brownie and Junior)

Do you know someone that needs assistance in pursuit of their artistic education? Seeking opportunities to “promote creativity, diversity, and cultural awareness,” the DFA has organized the Duvall Foundation for the Arts Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are available to children and young adults residing in the Lower Snoqualmie Valley who show a strong interest and ability in the arts, and who may, because of financial restrictions, be unable to take advantage of the educational programs available to them. Create Your Own Clay Class Children/Adults

Do you have a group or organization looking for something fun and creative to do? I will create an individualized class just for you. This two-class session can be extended to an ongoing, individualized class.

Flexible days and times.

Clay projects require a minimum of two classes to complete. Price will vary depending on project and size of group, etc. Sessions of 2 one hour classes will be approximately $36 per person. All supplies are provided.
