Creative Claytime (ages 3-6)
This is the perfect time for
your child to explore this sumptuously tactile medium. Kids will form and shape
the clay into amazing projects and then finish with colorful glazes. Parents are
welcome to stay during class.

Emerging Artists (ages 5-7)
Start cultivating your child’s
artistic talent at an early age. This class is the perfect introduction to the
skills and techniques of drawing, the world of expression and all the
enchantment art holds. Their creations will be enjoyed by you for years. Drawing, portraiture, painting,
sculpting, glazing, mixed media, and printmaking.

Basic Drawing & Beyond
(ages 8-14)
Drawing can be so much fun!
It’s also true that accomplished drawing is the gateway to producing great art.
Whether you want your child to learn how to draw or they are already showing
signs of artistic talent, this is the class to improve their skills. We will
focus on the basics and then amplify their projects using ink, charcoal,
pastels, and paint.

If you love creating both 2D
and 3D art—this is the class for you! First, study the subject that you will
sculpt through drawing and references. Second, learn techniques in sculpting in
different types of clay as well as other mediums. Third, have so much fun!

Summer Color Watercolor
Workshop
Draw and paint a striking
floral bouquet with master watercolorist, Susan Jenkins. There’s no better way to improve your paintings than through the
observation of life. Tips will be given on understanding and translating what
is before your eyes. We’ll learn to compose and simplify our initial drawings
and create a value study. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy together. During the
afternoon we’ll discuss techniques to show depth, texture and create glowing
colors.

Do you know someone that
needs assistance in pursuit of their artistic education? Seeking opportunities
to “promote creativity, diversity, and cultural awareness,” the DFA has
organized the Duvall Foundation for the Arts Scholarship Committee.
Scholarships are available to children and young adults residing in the Lower Snoqualmie Valley who show a strong interest
and ability in the arts, and who may, because of financial restrictions, be
unable to take advantage of the educational programs available to them.
Interested artists can turn in a short application. More information as well as
