Will present a fifty dollar savings bond and an American Flag to the first baby born at the Womack Army Hospital at Ft Bragg. The flag has been donated by Sen. Elizabeth Dole.

Adopted the 618 Engineer Support Company (airborne) out of Ft Bragg. The 618th was deployed, two months ago, to Iraq. Support to the Company is in the way of a monetary donation and "care packages."

American Flag retirement program is very active with over seven hundred flags being accepted and retired by local VFW and Legion Posts. The bulk of the flags have been delivered to the Airborne/Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville for retirement.

Membership

When Chapter 966 received it's Charter in February of 2006 it had twenty-nine members. In the last nine months we have lost three members. Two have died and one has transferred to At-Large. During that same time period we have gained twenty-one members in the Chapter, bringing our total to an even fifty. We are expecting four more replies, in the very near future, in the way of new VVA applicants and transfers from At-Large.
