Volume One of the Hellsing manga introduces the main characters,
showing how Alucard came to serve Integra, how Seras became a vampire, and how Hellsing came into its most recent conflict
with Iscariot.
In Volume One, we read about the history between Alucard and a younger Integra, who found Alucard
and released him from his prison.
We also meet Seras, the hapless policewoman shot and then made vampire by Alucard. Seras begins
her new life as a vampire and her new work for the Hellsing Organization.
The volume winds up with a tooth-rattling battle between Hellsing's Alucard and Iscariot's Anderson--both
of whom are fearsome fighters, instant enemies, and--dare we say it--evenly matched?
