From "2001 - A Space Odyssey"

After leaving the Army Security Agency, most of the Sinopians melded into the real world of career and family,  with no further contact for nearly forty years.   Technology enabled Ron Hoke to attempt  locating  the Sinopians, via internet, with limited success.  In 2005, Ron Hoke was able to locate  Jim Bryson and tentatively locate Jones,  but he made no direct contact with either.  In late 2006, Rodger Jones was able to contact Ron through an intermediary, in Goshen, Indiana.

Rodger and Ron exchanged information concerning Jim. Rodger then made a telephone call to Jim.  It was almost surreal when Jim spoke to Rodger, for the first time in forty years.  It seemed that Jim was skeptical about the call and even  the caller.  Eventually, Jim came to understand that  the call was genuine and that no conspiracy was involved.

Several conversations took place among the located Sinopians and utimately, a gathering was planed, known as Reunion I,  and which took place in 2007.  Subsequently, Reunion II took place in 2008 and Reunion III is scheduled in 2009.
