On the Way Home

The calvary barracks makes a nice backdrop for this fountain near Paseo de Zorilla.

The Plaza Mayor has been under restoration for the last decade. It may be the most beautiflul classic plaza in Spain.

Much of the historic architecture has also been restored.

Peñafiel is located in the heart of wine country - Ribera del Duero.

Clean, classic lines mark the streets and buildings .

Crisp colors sparkle in the sun.

A temporary bull ring for fiesta is placed in the plaza mayor.

The convent of San Pablo.

Teofilo makes great wine!

These are all local (Ribera del Duero) wines.

The medieval castle dominates the skyline.

Up close, the castle is massive.

These plants spell trouble for the castle walls.

Toledo - Our last day in Spain

Toledo is full of great old buildings.

The sculpture details are fitst-rate.

The cathedral is ornate beyond belief.
