The TV series was the first love of many Hellsing fans.
The series had a run of 13 episodes, 25 minutes each, which aired on Japanese television
during the years 2001-2002.
It was released on DVD in both the original Japanese audio and with an English-language dub. Its most highly-praised
features were deep character development, a groundbreaking soundtrack by Yasushi Ishii, and high-quality animation.
However, the plot deviated considerably from the Hellsing manga and the series ended with a cliffhanger,
leaving many undeveloped ideas.
It should be considered a separate entity from the Hellsing OVA, with considerably different plots,
characters and overall tone.
