History & Relationships: |
Valan is one of the "youngest" of all the gods. He is the quintessential "do-gooder" and spends much time
investigating and foiling plots of various demons and devils. But
he is also a bit headstrong and impulsive which at times leads him
into bad situations.
He numbers all of the good-aligned deities as his allies, and is
one of the few beings that can calm Hastur down once he is
enraged. He is s member of a loose alignment
of deities calling themselves the Shieldryn. This group, consisting of Loric, Nâzar,
Rhadyn,
and Valan have aligned themselves in opposition to what Valan fears is a new cabal of some of the darker gods (Vhokuun, Bhoryaal,
Barrakis and Tykhoor). They had initially asked Falkyr to join and
lead the group, but he refused. Though initially formed at Valan's behest,
Nâzar has come to be recognized as the head of the Shieldryn.
Valan also numbers a great deal of enemies, and is hated by nearly
all the demon princes of the abyss. He hates Vhokuun with an
intense passion, and though the Tyrant god doesn't take him
seriously, he is not above "putting the whelp in his place," and
often goes out of his way to goad Valan into doing something rash.
He maintains a strong romantic interest in Iridala, but she is
unwilling to make any kind of commitment to her various suitors. |
