Meet Mo

Mo.

Monique Tressler has been a part of the Williams County area for more than 20 years. In 1988, she moved here from California with her husband, Tony, who is an Ohio native. She is a 1999 graduate of Northwest State Community College with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Development. In 2006 she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitus and has been working with an Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Amy Dean, of Ann Arbor, Michigan (link) for greater health. Through her journey to become well, she realized the need for improved access to whole, organic foods for Northwest Ohio. She became an active member and president of the Eating Local Foods (ELF) Network, an organization that focuses on educating the public on promoting a sustainable food system that improves the quality of life and protects the environment. Through the ELF Network she planned and implented The Flavors of the Black Swamp Banquet and other events that have brought greater awareness and support to the local food producers.
